Learn About Digital Artforms

Our vision is to help make people healthier, safer and more productive through the optimal use of natural and immersive 3D interactive technologies.

Our mission is to become the imaging control platform of choice, creating a faster and more accurate means of visualizing and interacting with 3D environments. We aim to convert all 3D imaging to next generation navigation, and in doing so, to put maximum power, speed and information at the fingertips of every 3D imaging operator and consumer. In this way we are improving the health and safety of the patient and the physician, the passenger and the baggage inspector, the weapon systems operator and the troops in the field…

Our advanced Two-Handed Interface (THI) technology resolves the disconnect between the high quality of 3D images and data currently produced, against the prevailing techniques for navigating through and manipulating them. We replace the 2D mouse and keyboard with hand-held tracked controllers that let the user effortlessly translate, rotate, and zoom, almost instantly placing their viewpoint at any position, orientation, and scale.

Going further faster with less effort allows for superior exploration, analysis and guidance in 3D environments. This in turn leads to higher quality medical diagnoses and surgical plans, enhanced examination of concealed items in baggage, and improved navigation through and interaction with unmanned systems and military disaster/response scenarios.

Digital ArtForms was founded in 1998 by a team of experts in visual simulation and immersive interaction. Through projects funded from corporations and the U.S. Government’s medical, military and research agencies, Digital ArtForms has decisively demonstrated and measured the dramatic benefits of 3D immersion. Along with our flexible development platform we stand at the threshold of a new era in 3D computing.

Dr. Eliot Siegel, Father of Digital Radiology: “…a truly innovative and out of the box concept…”

Dr. David Kim, CT Colonography pioneer: “This is the future of Radiology… I guarantee you; every radiologist will want one of these.”

Dr. Jeffrey Augenstein, trauma surgeon training every trauma team deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan: “This is truly a game changer.”

U.S. Army human factors study (TATRC-2010): “THI is absolutely dominant against mouse and keyboard.
